Possibly a short film shown on PBS from the 70s or 80s?
In it I believe an entire school of students find themselves locked in
and unable to get out. As the story progresses there develop factions
for control of resources, perhaps because they were trapped for more
than one day? At the end though either a student is killed or almost
so and it is revealed to be some sort of harsh lesson or experiment by
the teachers?
